New York City’s famous French brasserie, Balthazar, originally opened in Manhattan’s SoHo district back in the spring of 1997. (You can read our review of this excellent eatery here). And now the acclaimed restaurant has expanded across the pond!
Balthazar’s London, England edition opened this week on the corner of Russell Street & Wellington Street in the heart of Covent Garden, just down the road from The Royal Opera House.
Like its New York counterpart, Balthazar London will offer food throughout the day and evening. Currently, however, the restaurant is only open for dinner. Its menu, created by executive chef Robert Reid, includes abundant seafood platters as well as a wide selection of classical French bistro and brasserie dishes such as côte de boeuf. Balthazar’s bakery will be housed next door (just like in NYC) serving its own house-baked artisan breads, as well as a wide selection of house-made pastries. Bon Appetit!
