World Travel Food Adventures: Vancouver, Korea, Dubai, New York, & Singapore!

Gary and I were both born and raised in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, but currently call Vancouver home. Vancouver is 2011’s world’s most liveable city and has topped the list five years in a row! With its year round recreational activities, thanks to a temperate climate, the city also includes access to some of the world’s best skiing in Whistler, and an abundant variety of scrumptious ethnic cuisines.

Although Vancouver is a wonderful city to live, travel and adventure are in our blood (I’ve been traveling since I was in the womb)! We love to experience different cultures and unique food, so we’ve also lived in Seoul, South Korea, South East Asia’s tiny sultanate of Brunei on the island of Borneo, and have spent extensive time in the Middle East. We’ve traveled considerably throughout the world (242 cities in 22 countries) so there’s no food we won’t try – at least once. Everything from adventurous eats like live baby octopus in Seoul, to more refined fare such as caviar and foie gras at the ‘world’s most luxurious’ 7 star hotel, Dubai’s Burj Al Arab.

Our most recent adventures took us to New York, and at the beginning of the year I was fortunate to return (for the 3rd time!) to my ultimate foodie haven (a favorite of Anthony Bourdain as well), Singapore…mmm laksa! To read about our earlier South Korean gastronomic adventures, check out our first blog, The Daily Kimchi. Additionally, feel free to devour our current epicurean escapades on our food site, Eating In Vancouver.

Bon appétit!
