Food Republic – Olympian City, Hong Kong

The Food Republic concept fits perfectly with Hong Kong’s sophisticated food culture because as savvy travelers, foodies from Hong Kong appreciate variety in their dining experiences. What is a Food Republic you ask? Food Republic, part of the BreadTalk Group, is higher-end food court offering a large selection of authentic contemporary Asian food stalls (from Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Shanghai, Vietnam, India and Korea) and specialty mini restaurants. This “Empire of Diversified Asian Cuisine” allows customers to enjoy culinary experiences worthy of upscale restaurants – yet at reasonable value.

The Food Republic in Hong Kong that we visited is located in Olympian City 2, a huge shopping mall in West Kowloon. Located on the ground floor (next to Starbucks), the layout and design are very similar to the Food Republic at Wisma Atria on Orchard Road, in Singapore. I ordered some bibimbap from their Korean stall, and Gary had some sweet ‘n’ sour pork from the Chinese mini restaurant. Both meals were excellent – if you’re craving other types of Asian cuisine during your trip to Hong Kong, then Food Republic should certainly be on your food list.
