Singapore has its fare share of upscale bars & restaurants, like Marina Bay Sands, Jumbo and Tanjong Beach Club, but food-mad locals (and tourists) salivate for hawker centers – open-air food courts where each stall serves one dish, and they do it well! This hawker center, which sits in the tropical beach of East Coast Park (right next to Ski360° and a short walk from Mandarin Gardens), is one of Singapore’s most popular. And I can understand why! With more than 50 stalls, the East Coast Lagoon Food Village offers everything from barbecued jumbo tiger prawns and grilled cuttlefish to satay (barbequed meat on bamboo sticks) to ice cold sugarcane juice, refreshing grass jelly and aloe vera drinks, and even alcoholic beverages. Mee (noodles) and nasi (rice) for $3 SGD, or $20 SGD for a three-course meal of barbecued stingray, chilli prawns, and fried veggies with noodles. This place is a foodie-haven and must not be missed during your trip to Singapore!
