Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites is a CAA/AAA 3 diamond award winning hotel nestled in the heart of British Columbia’s beautiful downtown Victoria. Steps away from major attractions, the property offers spacious accommodations and its hospitable staff pride themselves in providing personalized service.
Locally owned and operated since 1974, Chateau Victoria is primarily a suite hotel, although it does offer standard rooms as well. The majority of the 177 total guestrooms are actually suites: Junior Suites are located on the 5th floor and One Bedroom Suites on floors 6th through 15th. These spacious suites are certainly substantial, but if you’re looking for something even larger, then you could stay in one of their seven two-bedroom Penthouse Suites on on the 16th and 17th floors.
During our two-night visit, we stayed in a One Bedroom Suite on the ninth floor that included a a comfortable pillow-top king size bed topped with a luxurious down duvet. Not one, but two flat screen televisions were in our room; one in the living area and the other in the bedroom. Plenty of other perks accompanied this room, including complimentary parking and free high speed wireless internet connection. A little kitchenette included a mini-fridge, sink and microwave, along with dishes, cutlery and glassware. Oughtred sustainable coffee, a local Victoria company, was a also welcomed feature of our room. Our corner suite with its walk-out balcony presented us with a gorgeous view of the ocean and downtown Victoria.
If you feel like pampering yourself during your stay, then you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your own guestroom. Practitioners from Victoria Spa Services will come to you in-room treatments such as facials, massages, mani/pedis, etc. Additionally, you can make a splash in Chateau Victoria’s indoor swimming pool and relax in its soothing hot tub. Right next to the pool area on the second floor, you can work out in the exercise room equipped with cardio machines.
Chateau Victoria Hotel’s food and beverage outlets are topnotch. Vista 18 Restaurant ~ Martini & Wine Bar (read our review here) is Victoria’s only roof top restaurant and lounge, offering unparalleled panoramic views of the city and inner harbour. This fantastic establishment is popular with tourists and locals alike and cooks up delicious cuisine, expertly prepared using sustainable local ingredients. Situated on lobby level, Clive’s Classic Lounge is a great place to sip martinis with friends, and was named Victoria’s Best Hotel Bar, Canada’s Best Hotel Bar and one of the top ten in the world, according to Tales of the Cocktail.
